Data Protection

The organizers are glad that you visit our websites and that you are interested in our project. We take the protection of personal data seriously und we want you to feel comfortable while you visit our websites. While processing personal data, the protection of your privacy is important to us. We process personal data, that are collected during your visit on our websites, according to the legal requirements. The websites of the organizers may contain links to websites of other providers. In that case this data protection statement does not apply. 

You can visit the websites of the organizers, without telling us who you are. We only learn about the name of your internet service provider, the website from which you access our websites, and which of them you choose to visit. This information is analyzed for statistical purposes. The single user stays anonymous. Beyond that, personal data are only stored, when you give your data voluntarily while registering, for example for a newsletter, or taking part in a survey. 

Using and passing on personal data

The organizers use your personal data for the technical administration of the websites, for surveys and for marketing, but only to an extent that is relevant to the purpose.  Personal data are only gathered and transferred to government facilities and authorities within the framework of legal provisions. Our employees and agencies are obliged to be discreet and to keep to the code of conduct.   

Right of information

On request, the organizers will inform you according to prevailing law, if any of your data and what kind of personal data have been stored. We strive for accuracy and immediacy. However, if false data have been stored, we will correct these data on your request. 

Safety

The organizers use technical and organizational safety measures in order to protect your personal data against accidental or intentional manipulations, loss of data, destruction, or access of persons who are not authorized to do so. We improve our technical safety measures constantly. If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data, please send an e-mail to info@w-i-d.de.

Newsletter

The newsletter contains information on the WiD and its projects.  If you want to receive the newsletter, we need your e-mail address. During the application procedure you have to confirm that the e-mail address that has been chosen is yours respectively that the owner of the e-mail address agrees with receiving the newsletter.  No more data are collected. These data are used for sending the newsletter and they are not given to third parties. No more data are gathered.  You can withdraw your consent to store the data, e-mail address as well as its use for sending the newsletter at any time. To do this, you can either send an e-mail to info@w-i-d.de or  click on the respective link in the newsletter.       

Cookies

The websites of WiD use so-called cookies. Cookies are little files, which contain user-specific information and character strings. This way, the provider can improve comfort and quality of his services. Cookies do not damage your computer and they do not contain viruses. In your browser, you can deactivate the storage of cookies. You can also choose on which websites cookies can be stored. Alternatively, you can change the set-up of your browser, so that you are informed before cookies are stored on your computer. In these cases, you will still be able to visit the WiD websites. You can delete cookies at any time from the hard disk of your computer via the data protection functions of your browser. In this case, the functions and user-friendliness of the websites might be limited.  

Collecting data and processing data

On these websites, anonymous data are gathered and stored with the help of the web analysis tool Piwik. This is exclusively for statistical purposes in order to optimize our website. Specific individuals cannot be traced back to data, which have been gathered through Piwik, data cannot be used to track down your actions on the websites or to adjust the content on our websites to your user profile. These data are not merged with other personal data.  

Data that are logged automatically by the web server – in order to register all page views for error analysis and server security – also comprise the IP addresses. The IP addresses are stored for a limited period of time that is regarded as suitable for this purpose. Apart from the IP addresses and the page views no more personal data are collected. Further and special programming which connect the IP addresses with other data-like e-mail and addresses are not used.
