In 2013/14, the project brought together around 1,500 students from 16 European countries to discuss their ideas on "The Future of Our City". Each of the 18 local parliaments sent a delegation of five student to the final parliament that took place in Copenhagen in June 2014.
Equipped not only with background information from the preparation material but also with bright ideas and suggestions, the students came together in committees to discuss different sub-topics. Global warming, the development of bike lanes or the set up of rooftop gardens are only examples of the many broached subjects.
Here, especially the participating scientists were of great help. They presented their research to the students, explained the current state of reserach and discussed the problems and solution approaches with the participants. With this scientific support, the students could then work out the core points and wrote them down as resolutions for the final debate.
On this site, you can find the documentation and final results of the parliaments: you can download the resolution booklets the students have developed or check out the debated topics and scientists involved. Pictures of the event can be found on our Facebook page.
